THEY’RE PERFECT.
Happy slightly belated anniversary to conquerorwurm’s fanfic The Punishment, the story that got me involved in this fandom in the first place!
So I noticed something before fighting GLaDOS. Something I haven’t seen anyone in the Portal fandom point out. Something very important.
The phone.
Remember what the red phone does? It’s a shut-off mechanism for GLaDOS. You lift the phone off the base and GLaDOS powers down. It was how they shut her down so quickly everytime she tried to kill the scientists.
Take a close look at the important red phone in the picture.
The cable on it has been snapped.
Now look at this situation logically. I haven’t moved anything in the picture. It’s like this when you walk in. The phone is still on the base.
This means it wasn’t snapped by someone pulling too hard from panicking during the neurotoxin emissions.
It was snapped by someone on purpose and returned to its base.
Someone sabotaged the GLaDOS shut-off phone.
Who?
This was a triumph
I’m making a note here:It’s hard to overstate my

Best little sapper of all time!
Second and last picture for today
Aw my little Wheatley gets a lot attention lately, I like that C: (much awesome fanart ohoho♥)
high resolution xsljflkdfsfkm he’s so happy and proud
I want lines for the Spy to react to his new sapper
The Spy would hate Wheatley so much
Just a seething, silent hatred as that blithering little piece of junk gives away his position and gets him killed time and time again
But the Engineer would think Wheatley is cute—his own team’s, at least.
The Engineer is a pretty friendly guy, and he likes mechanical things, so the Spy decides to just toss the sapper in his workshop when he’s not using it. The Engineer finds him on the floor, polishes the scuff marks out, and sets him on the work bench to get a better look at him. After a thorough initial examination of the technology, he spends his evenings hanging out with the Wheatley-sapper and listening to his stories, nodding politely at the appropriate intervals while carefully reverse-engineering him to figure out how he works so he can make new weapons out of the technology.
Wheatley is just glad to have finally found someone who appreciates his brilliance, unlike that violent, dangerous masked fellow who found him first
Even if he had to get flattened by a meteor and sent through a black hole to the 1960s and put directly in the line of fire to finally be appreciated
